Devon Song brings internationally acclaimed singers and pianists into the heart of Devon to give intimate, inspiring recitals, and build a community of life-long art song lovers.

But what is art song?

Put simply, art song is just words set to music, often performed by a singer and pianist. It’s generally classical, though we also programme jazz, folk and musical repertoire, and at its heart it’s all about storytelling.

Is it for me?

Song is for everyone. If you’ve never been to a song recital, come along and see for yourself - there are no rules, no dress-codes, and you might just discover something amazing!

What’s on in 2026?

Gramophone Award nominated artists James Way (tenor) & Natalie Burch (piano) perform Schubert’s Winter’s Journey; Bethany Horak-Hallett (as seen on Sky Art’s Mozart’s Women) performs a reflective concert of Quiet Music and a semi-staged performance by Royal Opera House pianist Mark Packwood and singer/actor Richard Court based on the life of George Butterworth.
